Regular Season Round 15: Neftochimic - Beroe 91-79

Date: January 8, 2012
Very significant was Neftochimic's (#2, 10-2) victory against 3rd placed Beroe 07 (7-5) 91-79. The game was mostly controlled by Neftochimic. Beroe 07 managed to win fourth quarter 29-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for Ukrainian forward Katerina Dorogobuzova (187-90, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory scoring 31 points (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). Ukrainian-Russian guard Anna Sokolan (178-84) helped adding 16 points and 4 assists. Four Neftochimic players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international forward Zoya Stanoeva (182-76, agency: Global Sports Plaza) with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 11 rebounds and forward Delyana Koeva (182-86) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. Neftochimic (10-2) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place behind leader Dunav 8806. Beroe 07 at the other side keeps the third position with five games lost. Neftochimic are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Slavia (#7) in Sofia in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Beroe 07 will play at home against Levski (#5) in Sofia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
