The game in Burgas was also quite interesting. Third ranked Rilski Sportist (9-5) played at the court of 7th ranked Chernomorets (2-12). Rilski Sportist managed to secure a 7-point victory 86-79 on Friday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 22-13. But Chernomorets won third quarter 26-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Rilski Sportist won last quarter 27-21. They made 37-of-48 free shots (77.1 percent) during the game. Serbian guard Branko Mirkovic (190-82, agency: Global Sports Plaza) notched 18 points (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) to lead the effort and Serbian power forward Filip Vukosavljevic (205-83) supported him with 16 points and 5 rebounds. Even a double-double of 10 points and 16 rebounds by FYR Macedonian center Kiril Pavlovski (210-85, agency: Global Sports Plaza) did not help to save the game for Chernomorets. Forward Konstantin Koev (195-91) added 18 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Five Rilski Sportist and four Chernomorets players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rilski Sportist maintains third position with 9-5 record having five points less than leader Lukoil Academik. Chernomorets lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Spartak Pleven. Rilski Sportist will meet at home Euroins Cherno More (#5) in the next round. Chernomorets will play against Balkan in Botevgrad and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
