The game between closely ranked teams ended with thirteenth ranked Istanbul B.B.'s (8-10) home victory over 14th ranked Gelisim (6-12) 60-51 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 60-51. Istanbul B.B. dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Gelisim's 22. They outrebounded Gelisim 38-25 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Recep Dogrusoez (-86) who led his team to a victory scoring 9 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Serbian power forward Marko Kolaric (213-84, college: Chaminade) helped adding 7 points and 11 rebounds. At the losing side swingman Ozgun Onver (195-82) responded with 13 points and point guard Onat Akis (187-87) scored 12 points and 5 assists. Istanbul B.B. moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Pamukkale and Tire Gucu. Gelisim lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifteenth position with 12 games lost. Istanbul B.B. will face Tire Gucu (#12) in the next round. Gelisim will play against Vestel in Manisa.
