Very expected game when 16th ranked Gargzdai-Bremena (6-20) lost to eleventh ranked Perlas-MRU (13-13) in Vilnius 78-84 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 27-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Perlas-MRU dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Gargzdai-Bremena's 44. Perlas-MRU forced 21 Gargzdai-Bremena turnovers. Power forward Mantas Virbalas (203-88) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Gintautas Vileita (193-75, college: Monmouth) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Forward Laurynas Lucinskas (201-93) replied with 19 points and 7 rebounds and forward Renatas Jonelis (201-84) added 12 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Gargzdai-Bremena. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Perlas-MRU moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Ezerunas-Karys. Gargzdai-Bremena lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 20 games lost. Perlas-MRU will face higher ranked Delikatesas (#3) in Joniskis in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
