No shocking result in a game in Quakenbrueck where third ranked Artland Dragons (13-5) defeated 9th ranked Telekom Baskets (9-9) 93-83 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Artland Dragons. Telekom Baskets was better in fourth quarter 27-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Artland Dragons made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. Artland Dragons outrebounded Telekom Baskets 37-22 including 25 on the defensive glass. Telekom Baskets were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American-Puerto Rican forward Nathan Peavy (203-85, college: Miami, OH) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. American swingman Brandon Thomas (198-84, college: Massachusetts) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Artland Dragons maintains third position with 13-5 record having just three points less than leader Brose Baskets. Loser Telekom Baskets keep the ninth place with nine games lost. Artland Dragons will face Phoenix Hagen (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Telekom Baskets will play against ALBA Berlin (#4).
