An interesting game took place in Trabzon where higher ranked Turk Telekom (7-8) was upset on the court of fifteenth ranked Trabzonspor (3-12) 89-78 on Saturday. The game without a history. Trabzonspor led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Strangely Turk Telekom outrebounded Trabzonspor 41-26 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Trabzonspor especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. Turk Telekom was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American point guard Jonathan Gibson (182-87, college: N.Mexico St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points and 6 assists. Forward Kerem Ozkan (201-88, agency: 1x1 Sports) helped adding 15 points and 6 rebounds. Five Trabzonspor players scored in double figures. Trabzonspor's coach Halil Uner used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was swingman Ceyhun Altay (196-86, agency: Court Side) with 24 points and 6 rebounds and Latvian center Kaspars Kambala (206-78, college: UNLV, agency: Alti Sport) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Trabzonspor moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Antalya. Turk Telekom lost their third game in a row. They keep the tenth position with eight games lost. Trabzonspor will face higher ranked Fenerbahce Ulker (#6) in Istanbul in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
