Regular Season Round 18: Falcon - Aalborg 90-72
Date: January 14, 2012
Bottom-ranked Falcon managed to get the second consecutive victory. This time newly promoted Falcon won against fourth-ranked Aalborg 90-72. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 18-point difference suggests that Falcon is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Aalborg. The game without a history. Falcon led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 23 Aalborg turnovers. 25 personal fouls committed by Aalborg helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Mexican Robert Fields who scored 25 points. The former international guard Julian McFarlane (184-86) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. Four Falcon players scored in double figures. Falcon's coach Henrik Koll used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Ryan White (177-88, college: Texas St.) who recorded 27 points and 9 rebounds and forward Mads Rasmussen (195-88) added 19 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively. Newly promoted Falcon maintains tenth position with 5-13 record. Aalborg at the other side dropped to the fifth place with ten games lost. Falcon's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Svendborg at home and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Aalborg will play against Naestved and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
