Everything went according to plan when seventh ranked Maliye Milli (13-5) beat on the road bottom-ranked TED Istanbul (2-16) 92-77 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Maliye Milli. TED Istanbul was better in fourth quarter 24-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Maliye Milli looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for the former international forward Tolga Tekinalp (202-74, agency: 1x1 Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds. The former international center Umit Turkoglu (211-81, agency: 1x1 Sports) helped adding 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side forward Can Uzun (195-86) responded with 17 points and 5 rebounds and American forward Shawn Taggart (207-85, college: Memphis) scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Maliye Milli have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Optimum TED and Final Genclik. TED Istanbul lost fourteenth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Maliye Milli will face Final Genclik (#5) in Bursa in the next round. TED Istanbul will play at home against Optimum TED (#6) in Ankara.
