NBL top team - Lukoil Academik (14-0) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Balkan (3-11) in Botevgrad 88-59. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 88-59. Lukoil Academik dominated on the defensive end, holding Balkan to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They also forced 24 Balkan turnovers. Lukoil Academik looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American guard Brandon Heath (193-84, college: San Diego St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points and 9 assists. Lukoil Academik are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Spartak Pleven (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
