Date: January 14, 2012
Superleague top team - BC Donetsk (17-5) added another victory to their record on Saturday. This time they beat eighth ranked Dnipro (11-12) 84-80. BC Donetsk made 28-of-35 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Serbian point guard Vule Avdalovic (189-81, agency: Beo Basket) notched 17 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and American guard Ramel Curry (192-80, college: CSU Bakersfield) supported him with 14 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). Four BC Donetsk players scored in double figures. BC Donetsk's coach Sasa Obradovic used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 25 points and 7 assists by international guard Steven Burtt (185-84, college: Iona) did not help to save the game for Dnipro. French power forward Jerome Moiso (208-78, college: UCLA) added 4 points and 15 rebounds for lost side. BC Donetsk have a solid four-game winning streak. Despite that victory BC Donetsk went down to second position due to points difference. Dnipro lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with BC Kyiv. BC Donetsk will meet league's leader Budivelnyk in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Dnipro will play against Hoverla (#7) in Frankivsk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
