Regular Season Round 22: Hoverla - Ferro-ZNTU 74-77

Round 22 most important game was a victory of Ferro-ZNTU over 7th ranked Hoverla 77-74 on Saturday night. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Hoverla won third quarter 21-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ferro-ZNTU made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Hoverla turnovers. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Randy Culpepper (182-89, college: UTEP) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 5 assists. Guard Jeremy Chappell (191-87, college: Robert Morris, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Swingman Brian Greene (195-83, college: Florida A&M) replied with 20 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Dante Swanson (178-81, college: Tulsa, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) added 15 points, 5 assists and 5 steals in the effort for Hoverla. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ferro-ZNTU (15-9) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Khimik. Hoverla at the other side keeps the seventh position with ten games lost. Ferro-ZNTU will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Hoverla will play on the road against Dnipro (#9) in Dnepropetrovsk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
