Gloria Giants (9-8) survived in overtime against NBC (8-8) by four points 104-100 on Saturday night. The game took place in Nurnberg. But the guests from Duesseldorf were better at the end. NBC was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 27-26 charge of Gloria Giants, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 16-12. Gloria Giants made 26-of-30 free shots (86.7 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 57.7 percentage. American guard Aubrey Reese (183-78, college: Murray St., agency: Interperformances) scored 43 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds (perfect from downtown making all five shots) to lead the charge for the winners and Estonian forward Rait Keerles (201-80) chipped in 11 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Gloria Giants' coach Murat Didin used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American guard Jaivon Harris (197-82, college: Ohio) with 27 points and 6 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Will Chavis (181-81, college: Texas Tech) scored 23 points and 5 assists. Four Gloria Giants and five NBC players scored in double figures. Gloria Giants moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Chemnitz. Newly promoted NBC dropped to the eighth position with eight games lost. Gloria Giants will meet at home Saar-Pfalz Braves (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. NBC will play against Kirchheim Knights (#3) and hope to secure a win.
