An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Vagos. Second ranked AD Vagos faced 4th placed GDESSA. Host AD Vagos (12-1) defeated guests from Barreiro (8-5) 78-67. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of GDESSA. The game was mostly controlled by AD Vagos. GDESSA was better in third quarter 20-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. AD Vagos players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of international Joana Lopes (185-86) who helped to win the game recording 9 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists. Brazilian forward Lilian Goncalves (186-79) contributed with 18 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Four AD Vagos players scored in double figures. International center Luiana Livulo (187-91) answered with 26 points and 9 rebounds and American power forward Elisa Beagle (183-87, college: Texas A&M-CC) added 18 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for GDESSA. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for AD Vagos. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Alges. GDESSA at the other side dropped to the fifth place with five games lost. AD Vagos will play against CAB Madeira (#4) in Funchal in the next round. GDESSA will play on the road against AFC-Liberty S. in Porto and hopes to get back on the winning track.
