The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Bakken as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Bakken defeated 8th ranked Aabyhoj in Aarhus 68-57. It looked good early as Aabyhoj took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Bakken had a 16-9 second period charge getting the lead and Aabyhoj was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 57-68. The former international power forward Nicolai Iversen (205-80, college: San Jose City JC) had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Joshua Alexander (193-87, college: SF Austin) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Bakken's coach Philip Dejworek allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was American forward D'Mario Curry (201-85, college: Lincoln Memorial) with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 18 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Demetrius Phillips (207-87, college: Bridgeport) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Bakken (16-1) have an impressive 12-game winning streak. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Aabyhoj lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Horsens IC. Aabyhoj will play next round against strong SISU trying to get back on the winning streak. Bakken will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Vaerlose on the road.
