Not a big story in a game when 7th ranked Vaerlose (7-12) was defeated at home by first ranked Bakken (17-1) 79-66 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 79-66. It was a great evening for German center Mike Dejworek (210-87, college: Citadel) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). American guard Joshua Alexander (193-87, college: SF Austin) helped adding 17 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side forward Mads Rasmussen (191-86) responded with 19 points and 4 assists and American power forward Christopher Sprinker (205, college: Cent.Washington) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Vaerlose's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Bakken have an impressive series of thirteen victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 17-1 record. Loser Vaerlose keeps the seventh position with 12 games lost. Bakken will face Aalborg (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Vaerlose will play against SISU in Copenhagen.
