Rather expected game when 5th ranked Baltai Kaunas (8-7) was defeated at home by second ranked Rudupis (11-2) 72-62 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Rudupis. Baltai Kaunas was better in fourth quarter 18-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Center Edgaras Zelionis (207-89) fired a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Guard Arturas Milaknis (195-86) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. Croatian power forward Mario Delas (207-90) produced 10 points and 8 rebounds and guard Zygimantas Janavicius (192-89, agency: Interperformances) added 13 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Rudupis. They maintain second place with 11-2 record behind leader Lietuvos rytas. Loser Baltai Kaunas keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. Rudupis will face Zalgiris (#3) in Kaunas in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
