Regular Season Round 16: Ruta Siauliai - Aistes-LSU 71-54

Bottom-ranked Ruta Siauliai managed to get a fourth victory. This time they won against sixth-ranked LKKA-Aistes 71-54. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 17-point difference proves that Ruta Siauliai was well-prepared to that game. The game was mostly controlled by Ruta Siauliai. LKKA-Aistes was better in fourth quarter 18-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded LKKA-Aistes 48-28 including a 39-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of center Volha Kapylova (187) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Sandra Baliutaviciute (182-81) contributed with 19 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Ruta Siauliai players scored in double figures. Forward Jolanta Marmiene (181-79) replied with 20 points and 8 rebounds and forward Ugne Avizienyte (174-86) added 10 points and 4 steals in the effort for LKKA-Aistes. Ruta Siauliai maintains eighth position with 4-13 record. LKKA-Aistes lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 11 games lost. Ruta Siauliai will play against league's second-placed Sirenos in Kaunas in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. LKKA-Aistes' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kaunas to the arena VICI-Aistes.
