Not a big story in a game when 8th ranked Licher Baeren (7-10) was defeated on the road by third ranked USC Leipzig (12-5) 90-84 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Licher Baeren trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 27-20 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 84-90 at the end of the game. Licher Baeren was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Lamar Morinia (183-81, college: Montana St.-N.) fired 31 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. His fellow American import forward Monyea Pratt (196-85, college: Stillman) chipped in 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Four USC Leipzig players scored in double figures. USC Leipzig moved-up to second place in Group South, which they share with Noerdlingen. Licher Baeren lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with ten games lost. USC Leipzig will face TV 1862 Langen (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Licher Baeren will play against Fraport Skyliners II in Frankfurt and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
