Top ranked Genc Telekom (15-4) recorded its fourth loss in Ankara on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by seventeenth ranked Balikesir (7-12) 75-59. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Genc Telekom. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 75-59. It was a great shooting night for Balikesir especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. The best player for the winners was American forward Charles Jackson (203-87, college: Hawaii-Pacific, agency: Court Side) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. Power forward Orbay Kaya (205-82) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Croatian power forward Nenad Delic (210-84, agency: TSS Management) produced 28 points and 8 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and forward Hazer Avci (206-87, agency: Court Side) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Balikesir moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Pertevniyal. Genc Telekom at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. They share it with Selcuk Univ.. Balikesir is looking forward to face higher ranked Gaziantep (#5) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Genc Telekom will play against Usak (#19) and is hoping to win this game.
