There was no surprise when 13th ranked SSV Lok Bernau (1-17) was crushed on the road by tenth ranked SC Rist Wedel (7-11) 94-72 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by SC Rist Wedel. SSV Lok Bernau was better in second period 25-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. SC Rist Wedel dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to SSV Lok Bernau's 26. They outrebounded SSV Lok Bernau 39-23 including 16 on the offensive glass. SC Rist Wedel looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American center Anthony Pettaway (203-87, college: Defiance) fired 24 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. His fellow American import guard Augie Johnston (185-86, college: CS Monterey) chipped in 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four SC Rist Wedel players scored in double figures. American guard Jermale Jones (186-86, college: Tuskegee) produced 27 points and forward Sebastian Trzcionka (197-79) added 11 points and 6 assists respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. SC Rist Wedel moved-up to ninth place in Group North, which they share with Wulfen. SSV Lok Bernau lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the thirteenth position with 17 games lost. SC Rist Wedel will face higher ranked RSV Eintracht (#5) in Stahnsdorf in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. SSV Lok Bernau will play at home against BSV Wulfen (#10).
