Not a big story in a game in Klaipeda where 6th ranked Matinga-Juod. (15-13) was defeated by fourth ranked Nafta Universitetas (18-10) 91-85 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 91-85. Nafta Universitetas forced 23 Matinga-Juod. turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Evaldas Lengvinas (190-89) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and forward Viktoras Chodosovskis (200-89) who added 17 points during the contest. Four Nafta Universitetas players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Aurimas Birgelis (190-88) responded with 29 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists (made all of his fourteen free throws !!!) and center Mindaugas Kalvelis (205-80) scored 21 points and 5 rebounds. Nafta Universitetas moved-up to second place, which they share with LKKA-Atletas. Newly promoted Matinga-Juod. dropped to the seventh position with 13 games lost. They share it with Triobet and Statyba. Nafta Universitetas will meet S.Marciulionio (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Matinga-Juod. will play against Triobet (#7) in Jonava and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
