Regular Season Round 15: Spartak Pleven - Lukoil Academik 65-80

NBL top team - Lukoil Academik (15-0) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat eighth ranked Spartak Pleven (2-13) 80-65. It looked good early as Spartak Pleven took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Lukoil Academik had a 24-15 second period charge getting the lead and Spartak Pleven was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 65-80. It was a great shooting night for Lukoil Academik especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. It was a quality performance for Croatian center Bruno Sundov (221-80, agency: Alti Sport) who led the winners and scored 18 points. The former international swingman Todor Stoykov (198-77, agency: Interperformances) accounted for 15 points for the winning side. Guard Aleksandar Dyakovski (185-82) came up with 23 points and 6 assists and forward Todor Todorov (198-82) added 11 points respectively for Spartak Pleven in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Lukoil Academik have an impressive series of fifteen victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 15-0 record. Spartak Pleven lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. They share it with Chernomorets. Lukoil Academik's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Sofia Levski Sofia.
