Regular Season Round 23: Dnipro - Hoverla 75-73

A very close game took place in Dnepropetrovsk between Dnipro and Hoverla. Ninth ranked Dnipro (13-12) got a very close home victory over 7th ranked Hoverla (14-11). Dnipro managed to escape with a 2-point win 75-73 on Saturday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Hoverla won third quarter 21-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Dnipro dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Hoverla's 32 and made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Charles Thomas (203-86, college: Arkansas) who scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. International guard Steven Burtt (185-84, college: Iona) chipped in 14 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Dnipro's coach Denys Zhuravlov used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American center Eric Coleman (200-85, college: N.Iowa, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) produced 32 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import point guard Marcus Walker (186-86, college: Colorado St., agency: Hart Sports Mngm) added 11 points respectively for the guests. Dnipro moved-up to eighth place. Loser Hoverla keeps the seventh position with 11 games lost. Dnipro will meet at home BC Kyiv (#9) in the next round. Hoverla will play against Mykolaiv in Mykolaiv and hope to secure a win.
