Not a big story in a game when 15th ranked Leitershofen (2-15) lost to sixth ranked BV Chemnitz 99 (10-8) in Diedorf 68-80 on Sunday. The game without a history. BV Chemnitz 99 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Gary Johnson (188-82, college: Cent.Florida) who led the winners and scored 24 points and 9 rebounds. Center Joleik Schaffrath (206-88, agency: The House of Baller!Stars) accounted for 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. American center DeWayne Richardson (202-77, college: Fairmont St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import guard Corey Hassan (193-87, college: Sacred Heart) added 17 points respectively for Leitershofen in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. BV Chemnitz 99 moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Duesseldorf. Leitershofen lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. BV Chemnitz 99 will meet at home ETB Wohnbau (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Leitershofen will play against USC Heidelberg and hope to secure a win.
