There was a small surprise when eleventh ranked BG Illertal/Weissenhorn (3-14) won against at home 9th ranked TSV Troester (7-10) 100-83 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by BG Illertal/Weissenhorn. TSV Troester was better in fourth quarter 24-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BG Illertal/Weissenhorn dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to TSV Troester's 42. They outrebounded TSV Troester 39-28 including 30 on the defensive glass. BG Illertal/Weissenhorn looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American guard Dominique Jones (175, college: Ft.Hays State) fired 16 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. His fellow American import power forward Barkley Falkner (203-86, college: Sam Houston St.) chipped in 22 points and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Four BG Illertal/Weissenhorn players scored in double figures. American guard Dion Harris (190-85, college: Michigan) produced 26 points and 4 assists and center Philipp Neumann (210-92) added 15 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. BG Illertal/Weissenhorn maintains eleventh place in Group South with 3-14 record. Loser TSV Troester dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. BG Illertal/Weissenhorn will face higher ranked BSW Sixers (#5) in Sandersdorf in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
