Regular Season Round 14: Botas - TED Ankara 63-72

There was a small surprise in Adana where eighth ranked Optimum TED (6-8) defeated 6th ranked Botas (6-8) 72-63 on Sunday. The game without a history. Optimum TED led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Optimum TED forced 19 Botas turnovers. The game was dominated by American players. Center Kara Braxton (198-83, college: Georgia) had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard Erin Thorn (178-81, college: BYU) chipped in 25 points during the contest. Optimum TED's coach Deryan Ozyer allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Center Courtney Paris (193-87, college: Oklahoma) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 19 rebounds and forward Monica Wright (180-88, college: Virginia, agency: LBM Management) scored 21 points. Optimum TED moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Mersin and Botas. Optimum TED will meet bottom-ranked Istanbul Universitesi (#12) in the next round where they are favorite. Botas will play against Kayseri (#3) and hope to secure a win.
