Regular Season Round 17: Sirenos - Utena 77-58

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Sirenos (10-6) crushed 5th ranked Utena (8-9) in Kaunas 77-58. The game without a history. Sirenos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Utena's 30. Forward Egle Taraseviciute (182-90) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and the former international guard Rasa Zemantauskaite (177-81) chipped in 24 points. Forward Jurga Budryte (187-81) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 17 rebounds and center Giedre Kirstukaite (190-86) scored 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Newly promoted Sirenos maintains second place with 10-6 record having eight points less than leader VICI-Aistes, which they share with Kibirkstis-Tiche. Utena at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fifth position with nine games lost. Sirenos will play against Suduva (#7) in Marijampole in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Utena will have a break next round.
