Regular Season Round 16: Tofas - Mersin 81-88

There was an upset in Bursa where higher ranked Tofas (10-6) was defeated by thirteenth ranked Mersin (5-11) 88-81 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 29-20 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Tofas outrebounded Mersin 39-21 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 66.7 percentage. Tofas was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Anthony Grundy (189-79, college: N.Carolina St., agency: Strategic Sports) fired 35 points (!!!) for the winners. The other American import forward Omar Sneed (198-76, college: Memphis) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). American forward Bradley Buckman (203-84, college: Texas) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and Croatian center Jurica Zuza (207-78, agency: Alti Sport) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Tofas players scored in double figures. Mersin moved-up to twelfth place. Loser Tofas dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. Mersin will face Trabzonspor (#15) at home in the next round.
