Fifteenth-ranked Trabzonspor (3-13) made lots of trouble for sixth ranked Fenerbahce Ulker (11-5) on Saturday. The visitors from Istanbul managed to secure only ten-point victory 84-74. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 10 points after three quarters before their 23-13 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 10-point victory in overtime. Fenerbahce Ulker looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Trabzonspor's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Fenerbahce Ulker made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of Bosnian-Croatian swingman Bojan Bogdanovic (203-89) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and the former international forward Mirsad Turkcan (206-76) who added 16 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American center Elton Brown (206-83, college: Virginia) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Jonathan Gibson (182-87, college: N.Mexico St.) scored 24 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Defending champion moved-up to fifth place. Loser Trabzonspor dropped to the fourteenth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Antalya. Fenerbahce Ulker will meet at home Antalya (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Trabzonspor will play against Mersin in Akdeniz and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
