No shocking result in a game when third ranked Crailsheim Merlins (13-6) beat at home 6th ranked Gloria Giants (10-9) 66-54. The game without a history. Crailsheim Merlins led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The best player for the winners was American guard Aaron Cook (186-83, college: Hartford) who scored 17 points. Naturalized American forward Joseph Buck (201-81, college: USC) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds. Four Crailsheim Merlins players scored in double figures. Crailsheim Merlins' coach Ingo Enskat allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Estonian forward Rait Keerles (201-80) produced 17 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and American-Liberian forward Patrick Flomo (203-80, college: Ohio) added 8 points and 15 rebounds respectively for the guests. Crailsheim Merlins maintains third position with 13-6 record having just one points less than leader MBC. Gloria Giants at the other side keep the sixth place with nine games lost. Crailsheim Merlins' next round opponent will be league's second-placed Kirchheim Knights on the road and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gloria Giants will play against Ehingen/Urspringschule (#11) in Allmendingen and be promoted back to the BBL just one year after relegation.
