Regular Season Round 20: Bernau - Wulfen 65-78

Rather expected game when 13th ranked SSV Lok Bernau (1-18) was defeated at home by tenth ranked BSV Wulfen (8-11) 78-65 on Saturday. The game without a history. BSV Wulfen led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to SSV Lok Bernau's 38. The best player for the winners was American guard Steve Briggs (178-85, college: Okla.Wesleyan) who scored 23 points and 6 rebounds. The other American import forward Dijon Smith (203-89, college: Ft.Hays State) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. BSV Wulfen's coach Sebastian Borgmann allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American power forward Martinis Woody (201-82, college: Benedict) produced 15 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) and forward Sebastian Trzcionka (197-79) added 13 points respectively for the hosts. BSV Wulfen moved-up to eighth place in Group North, which they share with Wolfenbuettel and Rist Wedel. SSV Lok Bernau lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 18 games lost. BSV Wulfen will face Herzoege Wolfenbuettel (#8) on the road in the next round. SSV Lok Bernau will play against ALBA Berlin II (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
