Regular Season Round 30: LKKA-Atletas - Ezerunas-Karys 98-95 OT

Ninth-ranked Ezerunas-Karys (15-15) gave a tough game to second ranked LKKA-Atletas (20-10) in Kaunas on Saturday. LKKA-Atletas managed to secure only three-point victory 98-95. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 22-18 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 3-point victory in overtime. Strangely Ezerunas-Karys outrebounded LKKA-Atletas 39-27 including 26 on the defensive glass. Guard Sarunas Vingelis (192-89) scored 33 points (!!!) to lead the charge for the winners and guard Taurantas Tamosiunas (190-92) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four LKKA-Atletas players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Raimondas Ambrulaitis (199-82) with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Andrius Slezas (200-75) scored 28 points and 9 rebounds. LKKA-Atletas have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 20-10 record behind leader Radviliskis, which they share with Nafta Universitetas. Newly promoted Ezerunas-Karys keeps the ninth place with 15 games lost.
