Regular Season Round 16: Horsens - Lemvig 70-76

The most important game in the last round took place in Horsens between third ranked Horsens (10-6) and eighth ranked Lemvig (4-12) on Saturday night. Horsens were defeated by Lemvig in a tough game at home 70-76. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Horsens. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 22-11 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Lemvig forced 20 Horsens turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Rebecca Kielpinski (188-89, college: Alaska-Anch.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points and 19 rebounds. Forward Emely Hatch (-89) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 15 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Four Lemvig players scored in double figures. American swingman Brittany Bowen (177-88, college: Butler) replied with 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and Australian guard Charmaine Furgeson (176-86) added 18 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Horsens. Lemvig moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Falcon and Amager. Horsens at the other side keep the third position with six games lost. Lemvig is looking forward to face higher ranked Vaerlose (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Horsens will play against the league's second-placed Horsholm and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
