Regular Season Round 12: Electrico FC - Fisica 79-77

The most exciting game of round 12 in the Proliga took place in Ponte de Sor. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Fisica (6-6) to seventh ranked Electrico FC (6-6) 79-77 in the game for the fifth place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Fisica. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Fisica won third quarter 20-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Electrico FC forced 19 Fisica turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Tiago Pinto (183-88) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 4 assists and naturalized Cape Verdean swingman Mario Neves (190-77) who added 16 points and 17 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was naturalized Guinea-Bissau forward Josimar Cardoso (201-87) with 17 points and 9 rebounds and Edson Rosario scored 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Fisica's coach Ivan Kostourkov rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Electrico FC moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Sangalhos and Fisica. Electrico FC is looking forward to face Sangalhos (#7) on the road in the next round. Fisica will play against Povoa and is hoping to win this game.
