Bottom-ranked Leitershofen managed to get a third victory, breaking the three-game losing streak on Sunday night. This time newly promoted Leitershofen won against seventh-ranked USC Heidelberg 88-82. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 28-22. But USC Heidelberg won second period 20-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Leitershofen made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Guard Jan Lipke (193-83, agency: Court Side) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points and 6 rebounds. American guard Corey Hassan (193-87, college: Sacred Heart) contributed with 27 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American forward Jerrell Williams (203-88, college: La Salle) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Sanijay Watts (193-87, college: Central Mo., agency: Limelight Hoops) added 20 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for USC Heidelberg. Newly promoted Leitershofen maintains fifteenth position with 3-15 record. USC Heidelberg at the other side keeps the seventh place with nine games lost. They share the position with NBC. Leitershofen are looking forward to face league's leader Mitteldeutscher BC in Weissenfels in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. USC Heidelberg will play on the road against ETB Wohnbau (#12) in Essen and is hoping to win this game.
