Everything went according to plan when second ranked Noerdlingen (13-5) won against at home 12th ranked Giessen Pointers (2-16) 77-60 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Noerdlingen. Giessen Pointers was better in second period 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American forward Kedrick Johnson (192-83, college: Lee) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). The other American import guard Jason Jamerson (188-86, college: Grand Valley St.) chipped in 14 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Four Noerdlingen players scored in double figures. Noerdlingen's coach Mario Matic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Swingman Zeljko Pavlovic (194-80) produced 17 points and American forward Jarrel Smith (200, college: Concordia Irvine) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Newly promoted Noerdlingen maintains second position in Group South with 13-5 record behind leader Gotha. Giessen Pointers lost fourteenth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 16 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
