Seventh-ranked Botas (6-9) was very close to win a game against third ranked Kayseri (11-4) on Sunday. Kayseri managed to secure only three-point victory 96-93. However their fans expected much easier game. Botas was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 28-25 charge of Kayseri, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 15-12. Kayseri made 22-of-24 free shots (91.7 percent) during the game. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for center Nakia Sanford (194-76, college: Kansas, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 17 rebounds. LaToya Sanders (191-86, college: N.Carolina) contributed with 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Kayseri players scored in double figures. Center Courtney Paris (193-87, college: Oklahoma) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and forward Monica Wright (180-88, college: Virginia, agency: LBM Management) added 25 points and 4 assists in the effort for Botas. Kayseri maintains third place with 11-4 record having just three points less than leader Fenerbahce. Botas at the other side keeps the seventh position with nine games lost. Kayseri will face Besiktas (#11) in Istanbul in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Botas will play at home against Istanbul Universitesi (#12) in Istanbul.
