Regular Season Round 16: SISU - Amager 82-63

Date: January 29, 2012
Dameligaen top team - SISU (16-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Amager (4-12) in Copenhagen 82-63. The game was mostly controlled by SISU. Amager managed to win third quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Amager to just 6 points in second quarter. The winners were led by forward Julie Kongeskov (173-83, college: Valdosta St.) who scored that evening 26 points and 7 rebounds and center Iben Soltau (185-86, college: St.Bonaventure) supported her with 11 points and 7 rebounds. SISU's coach Hrannar Holm used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists by swingman Catharina Jensen (183-89) did not help to save the game for Amager. Center Sussie Kruuse (191-83) added 13 points for lost side. Four Amager players scored in double figures. SISU have an impressive 16-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 16-0 record. Amager lost tenth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Falcon and Lemvig. SISU will meet Falcon (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Amager will play against Aabyhoj and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
