Regular Season Round 22: Leipzig - Hanau 80-68

Date: February 3, 2012
There was no surprise when 6th ranked Hanau (11-8) lost on the road to third ranked USC Leipzig (13-6) 80-68 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by USC Leipzig. Hanau was better in second period 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. USC Leipzig forced 19 Hanau turnovers. Hanau was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for American guard Lamar Morinia (183-81, college: Montana St.-N.) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 5 assists. The other American import forward Monyea Pratt (196-85, college: Stillman) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four USC Leipzig players scored in double figures. USC Leipzig's coach Dimitris Polychroniadis used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American power forward Chris Miles (211-86, college: BYU, agency: The Black Agency, LLC) replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and power forward Marian Schick (198-86) added 12 points in the effort for Hanau. USC Leipzig moved-up to second place in Group South, which they share with Noerdlingen. Newly promoted Hanau keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. USC Leipzig will face league's second-placed Noerdlingen on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hanau will play against Fraport Skyliners II (#10) in Frankfurt.
