Regular Season Round 15: Naglis Palangos - Rudupis 92-94

Twelfth-ranked Naglis Palangos (2-13) gave a tough game to second ranked Rudupis (13-3) in Palanga on Friday. The visitors from Prienai managed to secure only two-point victory 94-92. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 26-19 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Naglis Palangos outrebounded Rudupis 36-22 including 25 on the defensive glass. 31 personal fouls committed by Naglis Palangos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for swingman Adas Juskevicius (194-89) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 5 assists. Guard Gintaras Kadziulis (193-80) helped adding 18 points and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was American center Dane Johnson (208-86, college: Hofstra) with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and Paulius Kleiza (195-88) scored 16 points and 5 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Despite that victory Rudupis went down to third position due to points difference. Naglis Palangos lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 13 games lost. Rudupis are looking forward to face Lietkabelis (#11) in Panevezys in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Naglis Palangos will play at home against Baltai Kaunas and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
