Regular Season Round 22: Final Genclik - Gelisim 67-85

There was a surprise result in Bursa where sixteenth ranked Gelisim (8-13) won against higher ranked Final Genclik (14-7) 85-67 on Friday. The game without a history. Gelisim led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Final Genclik's 34. American guard Derek Williams (185-85, college: SMU) scored 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard Sertay Gursu (195-87, agency: EM-PA) chipped in 13 points and 5 assists during the contest. Four Gelisim players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Orcun Okkali (201-87) responded with 9 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Erdem Ilter (-90) scored 12 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gelisim moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Baskent Genclik and Tire Gucu. Final Genclik at the other side keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. Gelisim will face Orman Genc (#18) in Ankara in the next round.
