There was an upset in Vilnius where higher ranked Perlas-MRU (15-16) was edged by bottom-ranked Gargzdai-Bremena (7-24) 70-68 on Friday. The guests trailed by 10 points after three quarters before their 26-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Gargzdai-Bremena forced 19 Perlas-MRU turnovers. Forward Renatas Jonelis (201-84) fired 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Forward Laurynas Lucinskas (201-93) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. Power forward Mantas Virbalas (203-88) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and forward Karolis Brusokas (200-91) added 13 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Perlas-MRU players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Gargzdai-Bremena maintains sixteenth place in with 7-24 record. Loser Perlas-MRU dropped to the eleventh position with 16 games lost. Gargzdai-Bremena will face higher ranked Statyba (#9) in Vilnius in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
