There was a small surprise in Vilnius where tenth ranked Sakalai (4-12) beat 8th ranked Juventus (6-10) 85-70. Juventus was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Sakalai forced 19 Juventus turnovers. They shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 66.7 percentage. It was a good game for guard Laurynas Samenas (192-88) who led his team to a victory with 26 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Forward Evaldas Baniulis (201-87, college: S.Carolina) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Center Karolis Petrukonis (212-87, college: Clemson) answered with 14 points and 9 rebounds and the former international forward Zydrunas Urbonas (198-76) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Juventus. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Sakalai maintains tenth place with 4-12 record. Juventus lost their third game in a row. They keep the eighth position with ten games lost. Sakalai's next round opponent will be higher ranked Kedainiai (#9) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
