There was a minor upset when 7th ranked NBC (9-10) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Science City Jena (10-10) 87-78. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. Science City Jena dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to NBC's 38. 26 personal fouls committed by NBC helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American forward Jeremy Black (203-85, college: Tampa, agency: Court Side) who led his team to a victory with 31 points and 9 rebounds. Canadian guard Tyler Kepkay (183-87, college: Utah, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Science City Jena moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Duesseldorf. Newly promoted NBC dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. Science City Jena's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Leitershofen (#15) in Diedorf and are hoping to win another game.
