An interesting game took place in Ludwigsburg where higher ranked Deutsche Bank Skyliners (8-12) were upseton the court of seventeenth ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg (6-14) 82-57 on Saturday. The game without a history. EnBW Ludwigsburg led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. EnBW Ludwigsburg outrebounded Deutsche Bank Skyliners 34-16 including a 27-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for EnBW Ludwigsburg especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.1 percentage. The best player for the winners was American guard Alex Harris (196-86, agency: Interperformances) who scored 28 points and 5 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Lithuanian forward Donatas Zavackas (203-80, college: Pittsburgh) chipped in 12 points. International power forward Tim Ohlbrecht (211-88) produced 12 points and American forward Jacob Burtschi (198-84, college: Air Force) added 10 points respectively for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. EnBW Ludwigsburg moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with TBB Trier. Loser Deutsche Bank Skyliners dropped to the eleventh position with 12 games lost. They share it with Bayreuth and Walter Tigers. EnBW Ludwigsburg will meet higher ranked Walter Tigers (#13) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Deutsche Bank Skyliners will play against New Yorker Phantoms in Braunschweig and hope to secure a win.
