No shocking result in a game when third ranked Ovarense (11-4) defeated at home 6th ranked Lusitania (8-7) 74-56 on Saturday. It was a great evening for the former international center Nuno Cortez (205-82) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Forward Fernando Neves (194-80) helped adding 12 points. Ovarense's coach Mario Leite used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was forward Mohamed Camara (196-83) with 15 points and 9 rebounds and American forward Brian Mills (203-88, college: Mercer, agency: Pro One Sports) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. The victory was the third consecutive win for Ovarense. They maintain third place with 11-4 record having just three points less than leader Porto Ferpinta. Lusitania lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixth position with seven games lost. Ovarense will meet at home league's leader FC Porto Ferpinta in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Lusitania will play against Terceira Basket (#11) in Angra Heroismo and hope to secure a win.
