Very predictable result when fifth ranked BV Chemnitz 99 (12-8) defeated on the road 10th ranked Cuxhaven BasCats (8-11) 88-78. Cuxhaven BasCats were tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. BV Chemnitz 99 made 29-of-30 charity shots (96.7 percent) during the game. It was a good game for American point guard Gary Johnson (188-82, college: Cent.Florida) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Japanese point guard Takumi Ishizaki (188-84) contributed with 25 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) for the winners. American guard Jackson Capel (191-87, college: Evangel) answered with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Jusuf El Domiaty (189-90, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) added 19 points and 5 assists in the effort for Cuxhaven BasCats. Five Cuxhaven BasCats players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for BV Chemnitz 99. They moved-up to fourth place. Cuxhaven BasCats at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with 11 games lost. BV Chemnitz 99's next round opponent will be Webmoebel Baskets (#5) in Paderborn. Cuxhaven BasCats will play on the road against USC Heidelberg (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
