Regular Season Round 19: Aistes-LSU - Sirenos 66-73

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kaunas: Sirenos (#2) and LKKA-Aistes (#6). LKKA-Aistes was defeated at home 66-73 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Sirenos made 24-of-29 free shots (82.8 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of center Kristina Alminaite (204-90) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds. Forward Egle Taraseviciute (182-90) contributed with 19 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Forward Kornelija Balciunaite (176-81) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals and power forward Laura Svaryte (190-92) added 21 points in the effort for LKKA-Aistes. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sirenos have a solid series of four victories in a row. Newly promoted Sirenos maintains second place with 12-6 record having eight points less than leader VICI-Aistes. LKKA-Aistes at the other side keeps the sixth position with 14 games lost. Sirenos' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kaunas to the arena VICI-Aistes.
