The game in Klaipeda supposed to be also worth to mention about. Leader Zalgiris (13-0) played at the court of 7th ranked Neptunas (6-9). Zalgiris smashed Neptunas 90-67. It looked good early as Neptunas took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Zalgiris had a 26-21 second period charge getting the lead and Neptunas was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 67-90. Zalgiris forced 21 Neptunas turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a good game for the former international forward Dainius Salenga (197-77) who led his team to a victory with 27 points and 6 steals. Serbian center Milovan Rakovic (208-85) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Forward Simas Galdikas (203-87) answered with 18 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and forward Laurynas Mikalauskas (205-85, college: Virginia) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Neptunas. Four Neptunas players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zalgiris have an impressive series of thirteen victories in a row. Defending champion moved-up to second place. Neptunas lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with nine games lost. Zalgiris' next round opponent will be Pieno Zvaigzdes (#5) in Pasvalys. Neptunas will play again on the road against the league's second-placed Zalgiris in Kaunas.
