There was a surprise result when seventh ranked Vaerlose (9-14) beat at home 3rd placed Naestved (14-9) 97-89 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 38-24 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Vaerlose made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. American guard Reginald Delk (193-86, college: Louisville) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Forward Mads Rasmussen (191-86) contributed with 32 points for the winners. The former international power forward Peter Johansen (205-80) answered with 23 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Jordan Glynn (200-89, college: SF Austin, agency: I.D.S. Law) added 18 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Naestved. Four Vaerlose and five Naestved players scored in double figures. Naestved's coach Geoff Kotila rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Vaerlose moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Horsholm. Naestved at the other side keeps the third position with nine games lost. Vaerlose will face league's leader Bakken in Aarhus in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Naestved will play on the road against Aalborg.
